About Me

My name is Matthew, I am a Christian, and I’ve been in the trade for 29 years.

From the first time I picked up a chisel at High School I knew I wanted to be a Cabinet Maker.

At 15 years old I got my first job at an antique restorer’s working Saturdays, and when I had free days from College.

I started by sweeping the floors and making cups of tea, moving on to planing floorboards by hand, to then being trusted to restore Antiques, making repairs, and re-polishing.

Whilst at the antique restorer’s I went to College studying Hand Crafted Furniture, gaining NVQs, levels 2 and 3.

From the antique restorer’s and College I then went to a company called Earlwood Furniture LTD based in Costessey, where I was trained by ex-Arthur Brett Cabinet Makers in traditional methods for Fine English Furniture, all of which got exported to the United States.

In 2010 I made the leap to go self-employed and build my own business.

I have now worked with most of the big name Hand Made Furniture companies in Norfolk, either in house or doing work for them from my workshops, and I now offer an extensive range of services from Antique Restoration, Polishing, Cabinet Making, Bespoke Joinery, Flooring, Kitchen Fitting, Hand Made Kitchens, and Spray Finishing, for both commercial and private clients.

My passion is in the detail and pushing that final 10 per cent that makes the job.

I strive to deliver on my customers’ expectations, and take great pride in my aftercare service.

Aside from work I enjoy reading, walking, and photography.

I go to Church at every opportunity that I can, love Jesus with my whole heart, and have a passion for serving in outreach programmes helping the less fortunate, lost, and broken.

Now you know a little more about me, I look forward to meeting you.

God Bless,
Matthew.

Core Values.

Having given my life to Jesus just over 4 years ago, I’ve changed a lot.

I’ve done a lot of spiritual formation, being challenged by scripture and God’s word. I’ve had many, many questions, and I’ve participated in courses to see His vision for my life, and how Jesus wanted me to live.

In doing so, I’ve adopted my Church’s core values: Being Christ Centred, People Empowering, Outward Focussed, Life Giving, and A Spirit of Excellence.

And it got me thinking how I can bring this into my business.

Those of you who I have had the privilege of undertaking work for know how I operate. And those of you who I haven’t met yet, I look forward to doing so.

This is what you can expect from me.

My focus is on you, my client. From the first point of contact I aim for you to feel like you are seen and heard, that your ideas and designs are valued every step of the way, and that you feel comfortable and confident enough to allow me to advise you on the best way forwards to allow me to deliver exactly what it is you want.

I will undertake the work with a “Spirit of Excellence”. There will never be a “that’ll do” approach, and I aim to give you value for money, and a bespoke service and product, with aftercare to match.

Christ will be at the centre of all that I do. I will not force my Faith upon you, but neither will I hide my love for Jesus.

This is currently a work in progress, and the more I think about it, the more will be added, and the clearer the vision for my business will be.
